On Saturday, April 12, students from across St. Paul Education showcased their curiosity and scientific thinking at the 2025 Lakeland Regional Science Fair. From exploring renewable energy to investigating human health and space science, the 18 participants presented hands-on projects that highlighted their research, knowledge, problem-solving, and creative approaches to understanding the world around them.
The event was hosted by the St. Paul and District STEAM Society, providing an exciting platform for students to explore science through hands-on learning and real-world inquiry.
A special congratulations goes to Ryan Noel from École Racette School and the team of Harper Matthews and Shyanne Klatt from New Myrnam School — their outstanding projects earned them a spot at the Canada-Wide Science Fair, taking place in Fredericton, New Brunswick from May 31 to June 7, 2025.
Several students also received SHAD Grants, which recognize innovative thinking and problem-solving. The grant provides an opportunity to apply for SHAD, a prestigious summer enrichment program that brings students from across Canada together to explore science, technology, and leadership at a university campus.
