St. Paul Education is pleased to announce that Simon Chalke has been appointed Principal of Two Hills Mennonite School (THMS), effective the 2025–26 school year. With nearly 15 years of teaching experience and a strong dedication to student success, Simon brings a well-rounded background in education and leadership to his new role.

Originally from Toronto, Simon moved to North Vancouver at age 12, where he completed high school. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of BC, and both a Bachelor of Education and Master of Education from the University of Alberta.

Simon has taught every grade from 4 to 12 and spent four years teaching internationally—three in Kuwait and one in Abu Dhabi. For the past four years, he’s been a teacher at THMS, serving as Assistant Principal for three of those years. His recent assignments have included high school English Language Arts, Science 10, and Biology 20/30.

“I’m excited for the new challenges and opportunities that come with being Principal at THMS,” Simon said. “We have a great staff that really cares about providing a great school experience for our community. I’m looking forward to working with students, staff and parents to make every child’s school experience the best that it can possibly be.”

Simon lives in Vegreville with his wife, Kara, and their two dogs, Moose and Bigs. Together, they enjoy exploring Alberta’s outdoors, cheering on their favourite sports teams, and spending time with friends and family. Simon especially enjoys summers at his family’s cottage in Northwestern Ontario.
