Division Career Counselling
Our St. Paul Education Regional Division No. 1 Career Counselling program aims to increase high school completion and, with the help from our Career Counsellors, help students be successful both in school and after high school. Our Career Counsellors meet individually with grade 9-12 students to discuss and assist with the following topics:
- High school course planning and review of graduation requirements
- High school and summer programs
- Career assessment and interest inventories
- Researching occupations
- Post-secondary planning and applications
- Writing resume and cover letter
- Job interviews and job search
- Finding and applying for scholarships/funding
We also offer many services to students and parents:
- Access to myBlueprint, our online career and life planning program for grades 7-12
- Classroom and evening presentations and workshops on a variety of topics, such as career planning, Personality Dimensions, funding post-secondary, writing scholarship essays, and study skills
- Organize guest speakers and field trips to post-secondary institutions
- Organize our annual ELAA Post-Secondary Night in the fall
- Coordinate our local scholarship program
