Election 2025
School board trustees play an important role in shaping the future of K-12 education. They provide decision-making oversight and local governance, which helps guide the educational experience of our students. Trustee elections occur every four years in conjunction with the municipal elections.
Are you a team player passionate about education and making a difference in your community? Consider running for trustee. As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of St. Paul Education.
Interested candidates are encouraged to review the Division’s Candidate Information Booklet.
Notice of Intent to Run
School board trustee candidates intending to run for the 2025 election must register their notice of intent with the Returning Officer before accepting campaign contributions or incurring campaign expenses.
Prospective candidates must complete the Notice of Intent form and submit it to the Returning Officer. Candidates can submit their forms any time during the nomination period.
NOTE: Candidates that register their Notice of Intent must still submit their official nomination forms between January 1, 2025 and Nomination Day on September 22, 2025.
A list of candidates submitting a notice of intent will be posted on the Division website as they are received.
Nomination Form
The Notice of Intent is not the nomination form. All candidates must submit a nomination form accompanied by a $100 deposit, prior to noon on September 22, 2025. If submitting a nomination form prior to September 22, 2025 please make an appointment with the Returning Officer in advance by calling 780-645-3323.
The Nomination Form and Notice of Intent are fillable PDFs. To complete them, please download the files to your device and open them using a PDF viewer (such as Adobe Acrobat). Forms opened directly in a web browser may not function properly.
