St. Paul Education held its annual organizational meeting on September 11, 2024.

The Board selected its officers with Sylvie Smyl re-elected as board chairperson and Darcy Younghans re-elected as vice-chairperson.

Trustee Smyl looks forward to continuing her role as board chair. “I look forward to another year serving as Board Chair for the St. Paul School Division. The Board of Trustees has started quite a few new initiatives in recent years and has worked diligently on many aspects of our Board Priorities. I anticipate many good things ahead and recognize that much more work remains to move our Division forward."

Superintendent Peter Barron is proud of Sylvie’s accomplishments and is excited to see her continue as board chair. “On behalf of the entire division, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Sylvie on her re-election as chairperson. Her leadership has been instrumental in guiding our schools towards success, and I am confident that with her continued vision and dedication, we will achieve even greater heights. I would also like to acknowledge the contributions of all our board members, whose collaboration and commitment have been essential in supporting our shared mission. Together, under Sylvie’s leadership, I am certain we will continue to make a positive impact for our students, staff and community.”

Regular school board meetings remain scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month at 12:30 p.m.
